01Data controller

02What reaches our servers

  • Your connection's IP address, and the approximate area (city or region) it suggests.
  • The user-agent header (browser type, version, device) and the pages requested.
  • The cookie switches you set.
  • The contents of any email you send toprungo, such as your name, reply address, subject line and text.

03Purposes

  • Keeping toprungo online and protected from abuse.
  • Analytics, only with your consent, so we learn which pages get read.
  • Marketing and affiliate attribution, only with your consent, so a partner network can credit a stay that started here.
  • Replying to your messages.

04Recipients and transfers

Data may reach the hosting and analytics firms acting for us; affiliate and partner networks, once you click a tracked link with advertising cookies allowed; a hotel, only if you contact it yourself; and public authorities when a law compels it. Where a provider sits outside your country we rely on contract clauses to protect the transfer.

05Retention

Raw access logs are deleted after 90 days. Analytics are held in aggregate for no more than 14 months. We hold emails for 24 months from the final message, unless you ask for earlier erasure. Your cookie setting remains on your device until you erase it.

06Europe and the UK: GDPR

Readers in the EU, EEA or UK hold GDPR rights to request a copy of the personal data toprungo keeps, have it corrected or erased, restrict or port it, and object where toprungo relies on legitimate interests. Any consent can be withdrawn at will, and complaints can be lodged with your national privacy watchdog.

07California: CCPA and CPRA

California residents, under the CCPA as the CPRA revised it, may find out which personal information toprungo holds, request correction or deletion, and opt out of its sale or of its use for cross-context behavioural advertising (affiliate tracking falls in that bucket). Pressing Reject All, or arriving with GPC enabled, records the opt-out. Exercising a right will not degrade toprungo for you.

08Children and teenagers

toprungo is written for adults and never sets out to gather data about minors. Should a person under 18 send us something, let us know and we will erase it.

09Sending a request

Write to privacy@toprungo.com. We might ask you to prove who you are, then reply inside the legal deadline.
