The publisher is Caesars Riverboat Casino, LLC, 11999 Casino Center Drive SE, Elizabeth, IN 47117. That company operates Caesars Southern Indiana, which heads our list.
Ownership in brief: in September 2021 the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians bought the resort's operating business from Caesars Entertainment; EBCI Holdings, LLC, formed by the tribe that year, has held it since. Caesars Entertainment still licenses its name and its Caesars Rewards programme to the property.
02Our own resort, first
Caesars Southern Indiana is the publisher's own resort. That ownership is the only reason it holds first place. Book a room there and the owner benefits directly, since the whole stay is paid to our publisher rather than a commission alone.
Three more entries are sister properties within the same owner group, and a fourth shares the Caesars licence. Labels on the list mark each one, and the methodology sets out the tie.
03Where the money comes from
Affiliate and referral commission, paid when a reader clicks certain links and then books. Readers pay us nothing. Hotels cannot buy a place, and commission plays no part in who appears or in which position.
04Choosing the hotels
- Each candidate is checked against its official pages and recent public reporting to make sure it is operating and taking room reservations.
- Entries cover rooms, spas, pools, food and the country around each hotel. Gaming is left out.
- Uncertain points, such as fees, age limits and transfers, appear as things to ask the hotel.
- Numbers we cannot stand behind are omitted, and no grades of any kind are published.
05Where facts come from
The editors cover regional travel across the Ohio Valley and the southern Appalachians. Hotel websites, tribal and corporate announcements and regional newspapers are our sources. Where two of them contradict each other, the detail stays out.
